Crackle Unveils Free Anime Channel
Crackle — the online web series, film and TV show outlet owned by Sony — held its upfront presentation in New York yesterday, and among the announcements was news of and plans to launch a new anime channel.
As part of their “Always On” platform, the series of multiplex channels launched today as completely free, ad-supported service with seven distinct destinations including Anime, Comedy, Action, Drama, Thriller, Sports and Fandom. The channels are anchored by original content and will play like linear TV once selected.
While the company has yet to reveal it’s entire anime slate, the platform currently has Osamu Dezaki's live-action spin-off Ultraviolet: Code 044, and Shinji Aramaki's Viper's Creed as exclusives. In the past, they've been the only place in America to catch other anime, such as Nodame Cantabile.

Other initiatives include the stop-motion animated comedy SuperMansion which will bow in early 2017 and follow the further adventures of Titanium Rex (voiced by Bryan Cranston, who is also the show’s executive producer) as he struggles to live with and fight alongside the Millennial-aged, often lackadaisical members of The League of Freedom.
