Michelle Nguyen, aka IAmChubbyBunny, is a local purveyor of kawaii accessories to J-Pop culture stores and directly via the Web. She is also a world-class cosplayer. She has a TOKYOPOP connection: she was on staff with our English-language version of Gothic Lolita Bible. She recently got married, and her wedding was an Otaku dream! I had to share, even though I was not invited. No problem, she posted all the details on the Web for world+dog to see. In true cosplay fashion, Ms. Nguyen sewed an incredible dress for herself, and designed the accents for the bridesmaid's dresses as well.
Here's the Bride with her bridesmaids, who were her "sailor senshi."
Each bridesmaid wore a circlet around their head, hand made by Ms. Nguyen...
And the dresses were accented by a Sailor Senshi brooch for each, given extra pizzazz with electro-luminescent planetary symbols! Ooh! Shiny!
The rooftop ceremony was set up with a very Sailor Moon ceremonial arch...again, Ms. Nguyen and her friends worked on that and other lovely props and decorations, in the true spirit of cosplay.
The wedding cake was perhaps the closest to the style of the anime series, in bright colors, with chibi versions of Usagi and Tuxedo Mask, the latter with his hair painted to more closely resemble the Groom.

And Ms. Nguyen also is involved with the online Defective Geeks media empire.
