Reason #743 to move to Japan: their Cosplay game is smoking'
Ho ho! You didn't expect me to have a truthful reason to move, but Japan's cosplay industry is officially smoking! When it comes to life, work, and cosplay, it's all about the story you tell. Want Sailor Moon hair that doesn't reflect in the sunlight? Go with a non-sythetic wig. Want real, safe, and gorgeous fire and explosions in your cosplay shots? Hire Cosnavi.
Based out of Japan, Cosnavi is a cosplay photo shoot group with the means and gusto to tell a memorable cosplay story for prices that won't break your wallet. And considering the small fortune it is to have a killer cosplay, let alone get the contact lenses for the L costume you're making, it's darn near a godsend. The group offers trips to trips to locations such as rural schoolhouses, abandoned factories, and centuries-old farmhouses- like this one!
Oh Kiki, you never miss a delivery.
If it's not a man-made background you seek, this spring Cosnavi will be taking interested cosplayers to Mt. Ifuneyama in Tochigi Prefecture.
Characters from fantasy or science fiction series, eat your hearts out as you stand in the same rugged terrain that many tokusatsu shows have filmed at before.
Oh? You're more of big deal, One Punch Man kind of cosplayer and you're looking for the big kahuna stuff? Cosnavi is exploding with excitement with pyrotechnic packages for you:
Those pyrotechnics aren’t digitally added. Cosnavi will actually have technicians on-site setting up explosive charges or straight up setting the ground ablaze.
The trip’s standard participation fee is 5,000 yen (US$42), which includes shuttle service to and from nearby Iwafune Station (Cosnavi can also arrange bus transportation to and from Tokyo). While the standard fee gets you access to the mountainside photo shoot areas, there are additional charges for the special fire-based activities. The explosion photo shoot will cost you an extra 1,500 yen, plus 500 yen for each person in the photo, for which Cosnavi guarantees three blasts. The fire photo shoot carries a heftier premium, with a surcharge of 5,000 yen per person.
Ready for Japan to stop being so great and take your money? We thought so.
Be one of the first to get snapped at Mt. Ifuneyama and sign up for Cosnavi's next two trips, officially called “Ikusa Haru no Jin Iwafuneyama Cliff Stage,” on March 19 and 20.
