Scheduled to come to Nissei Theater in Tokyo next April, the Death Note Musical will feature music by Frank Wildhorn, the composer of the Broadway musical “Jekyll & Hyde,” and will be produced by Tamiya Kuriyama, who was recently awarded the prestigious Japanese Medal of Honor with Purple Ribbon (shiju hosho) for his work in theater. Kenji Urai and Hayato Kakizawa have been double cast for the lead role of Light.

Death Note fans in Korea will also have a chance to see the musical, as it was announced that the production will also be making its way to the LG Arts Center in Seoul.
