Should Shia LaBeouf be a part of the new Dragon Ball saga?

A weird but well-produced video featuring Shia LaBeouf has been making the rounds on the Internet for a few days now. It basically consists of an over-wrought motivational rant by LaBeouf, done in front of a green screen. Hmm. A viral video of LaBeouf "leaks" from an art project. Shot in front of an immaculately lit green screen. Anyone who's played around with doing green screen knows that if you screw up the lighting, the resulting footage will likely not be able to be usable. By way of explanation, in this process you take one piece of footage, knock out the monochrome background, and replace the background with another image or some other moving video. If you have light spots or dark spots, it gets tricky to impossible to make this work.

This footage is perfect.

It gets leaked.

And in the space of a little over a week, a kajillion video hobbyists take the LaBeouf rant, and have their way with it. Predictably, one of the most common of these mashups have to do with the overwrought manly fighting angst machine that is the Dragon Ball saga. There are several on YouTube right now, and most of them have to do with going Super Saiyan.

Goku, of course, gets the motivation treatment.

He gets it more than once, actually.

So does Vegeta.

And so does Gohan.

Even Krillin gets a pep talk from Shia.

The inescapable conclusion of these mashups? Shia LaBeouf, or a character portrayed by or based on him and his rant, needs to be written into the new Dragon Ball series, Dragon Ball Super, somehow or another. For one thing, it doesn't take a great deal of imagination to see LaBeouf himself turning Super Saiyan in the midst of his soliloquy. The weird gestures he makes, the fighting stances he takes, all the screaming and yelling...it's almost a textbook Dragon Ball transformation in itself.

Dragon Ball Super writers and artists: JUST DO IT!!!

For more LaBeoufiness, here's a compilation of more of these mashups, none of which has anything to do with Dragon Ball, plus a little snarky commentary.
