Geeklair: My Pray For Japan Memories

Geeklair: My Pray For Japan Memories

The tragic Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami will have happened four years ago this March 11th. And three years ago, the movie Pray For Japan premiered in Japan and the United States of America. I remember as if it was yesterday going to the AMC Del Amo Theatres in Torrance, CA, and reveling in the lovely chaos of our Los Angeles-area premiere.

Meet the Bad@$$ Women of Knockouts!

Meet the Bad@$$ Women of Knockouts!

We got help from some amazing actresses and professional stuntwomen to make the Knockouts Concept Trailer. These women punched and kicked each other, were flipped off of a bar, and had bottles broken over their heads! They put their bodies on the line to bring the vision of our director, Leo Kei Angelos, to life, and we all had fun creating this action-packed video. Watch the Knockouts Concept Trailer, and then find out more about the awesome women who made it below.

Another Anime Los Angeles In The Books

Anime Los Angeles is easily the most enjoyable con I go to on a regular basis. It's not big and unmanageable, it's still "the friendliest con around" as the tagline goes, and I enjoy being able to see friends I never see anywhere else. It also attracts some of the best cosplayers, who invariably bring their "A" game to the event. You don't see a lot of the "superstar" cosplayers attending, but I think that is a good thing. Let the people who do cosplay for the love of it get the spotlight.

Honduras fan convention - MEGACON!

Honduras fan convention - MEGACON!

TOKYOPOP Fam: NOTE: lots of pics below and even more here on Flickr! Hola from TegucigalpaHonduras!! I’m down here in Central America for a fan convention called MEGACON. It’s quite amazing to me how many places around the world have fan conventions featuring comics, manga, anime, gaming and other geek culture. Little did I imagine that I’d be visiting Honduras for a con, but the invitation was irresistible since I wanted to see for myself what fandom is like in a small country like Honduras.
