Life-sized Titan statues in Tokyo, an Avengers crossover, and now a reveal of the live-action cast in costume - let’s just say it’s been big month for Attack on Titan! Before you judge the casting choices, live-action Attack on Titan producer Yoshihiro Sato explained that the production team didn’t concern themselves at all with whether or not the actors looked like their manga counterparts. Instead, after several talks with series creator Hajime Isayama, Sato “carried out casting on the basis of whether or not the actors could embody the spirit of Isayama’s originals.”

Actor, musician and director Dean Fujioka made his American acting debut earlier this month in the wild west detective series The Pinkertons, where he plays the mysterious character Kenji Hara. Created by Kevin Abrams and Adam Moore, The Pinkertons is about a father and son who team up with America's first female detective to solve crimes in the Wild West. 

Legendary anime director Hayao Miyazaki received an honorary Oscar for his years of contributions to the motion picture industry at a ceremony last Sunday. Miyazaki is the second Japanese citizen to win an honorary Oscar, the first being director Akira Kurosawa in 1990.

Let’s just be honest - Piracy happens. It’s a terrible thing, but it will probably never go away. It would be AWESOME if every content creator got all the money they deserve, but it would also be awesome if I could date Faye Valentine. Alas, only at Cons...
